Tasmania’s Wonderful Waterfalls

Hidden amongst the dense wilderness of Tasmania’s rain forests lies several breathtaking waterfalls. Russell Falls (top image), located on the eastern boundary of Mount Field National Park, is a standout thanks to its picturesque surrounds and easy walking trail underneath towering native flora. The path is wheelchair friendly and ideal for the whole family. 100-metres upstream lies Horseshoe Falls (bottom image) that can be reached via a slightly more challenging track.

Another favourite is Nelsons Falls (middle image) located in the Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park. The stunning falls are a recommended stopover for travellers heading along the Lyell Highway. The route to the falls is dotted with information panels pointing out the unique and ancient plants native to the area.
